Body Text is an 8 minute performance that blurs the boundary between body and text, questioning issues of identity construction and the role of the body in an increasingly digital world. A motion capture camera tracks the performer’s movement and relays her position to custom software, which generates and animates the text in real time. Sound developed and performed by Ian Hatcher.
Body Text premiered as a part of the Brick Theater’s Tiny Theater Fest in 2012. The piece was further developed during a 2013 residency at Marlboro College.
